Hersh, Duritsky, Wallace & Zufall All Repeat Winners at Dog Hollow Speedway Chris Anderson & Jim Young First Time Winners

STRONGSTOWN , PA ( September 10, 2021 ) – The magical number was 516 Friday night at Dog Hollow. Both the Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinder winner Chris Anderson, of Cassville, and AMSOIL/Ron’s Collision Center Pure Stock winner Andrew Wallace, of Glen Campbell, had cars with the number 516. Somerset ’s Clint Hersh won his second MCS Super Late Model feature while Masontown’s Michael Duritsky won his third in the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Models. Johnstown ’s Jim Young captured the 600cc Micro Sprint feature with Mt. Pleasant driver Jeremy Zufall winning his eighth in the RUSH Crate part of the AMSOIL/Ron’s Collision Center Pure Stock feature.

Brandon Doland and Andrew Wallace led 15-lap the AMSOIL/Ron’s Collision Center Pure Stock feature to the green. Wallace quickly grabbed the lead and was chased by Greg Blystone. It was a four car battle with Wallace, Greg Blystone, Brad Benton and Brandon Doland. Tyler Blystone would then make it a five car battle. Wallace was able to keep the Rich Anderson owned 516 out front the whole race for his second straight feature win. Jeremy Zufall started twelfth and came home second in his crate car. Tyler Blystone, Brandon Doland, Brad Benton, Mike Ball, Ron Benton, Bob Torquato, Jeremy Fama and Dennis Collins filled out the top ten. Heat races were won by Doland and Wallace. Zufall won the RUSH Stock Car portion for his second place overall finish.

The 25-lap MCS Super Late Model feature was a two car battle with Clint Hersh and Dan Angelicchio. Hersh led the whole way with Angelicchio hot on his bumper. Both drivers were flying on the outside of the speedway and had two cautions slow them up. Angelicchio got crossed up with a lapped car allowing Dave Blazavich to sneak by to finish second. Angelicchio was third over John Wayne Weaver, Billy Eash, Rob Marhefka, Mike Blazer, Joe Petyak, Mike Steck and Mike Horne. Hersh and Del Rougeux were the heat winners. Rougeux and Chad McClellan were unable to start after a crash when the heat ended.

Jim Young sped away to a dominating win the 12-lap 600cc Micro Sprint feature. Young went unchallenged to beat AJ Bast, Ryan Smith, Jesse Howell and Jomarie Gagne. Young won the lone heat.

Michael Duritsky took the lead from the start of the 20-lap Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Model feature. Mike Laughard and Joe Moyer gave chase with Duritsky holding his lead. Duritsky won for the second straight week over Joe Moyer, Corey Neal, Mark Rend, Rob Coffaro, RJ Dallape, Travis Justice, Mike Laughard and Rudy Bussaro. The heats were won by Moyer and Duritsky.

The final feature of the night was one of the best in the 12-lap Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinders. Cody Young took off at the start with Chris Anderson in tow. Soon Justin Williamson and Dylan Young joined the pair and made it a four car battle royal. Lap after lap the four dueled for the top spot before a caution slowed the pace on lap eight. On the restart Anderson got a better restart and passed Cody Young on the outside down the front stretch. Dylan Young got around Williamson and they all chased Anderson the final four laps. Chris Anderson took home the checker for his third career win at the Dog Pound, with his last win coming in 2019. Cody Young held second over Dylan Young, Justin Williamson, Timothy Baker, Adam Pletcher (from the tail), Noah Swank, Ashton Daughenbaugh, Todd Davis and Bill Eckenrode. Grabbing the heat wins were Chris Anderson and Cody Young.
